Exalted Rulers Message

MAR 2010

What a month we have had at the Cocoa Lodge. We started off with a Super Bowl Party hosted by the team of Dave and Dave. The game was good but the food and fellowship was the best. Great job and thanks to Dave McGuiness, Dave Pemberton and all those that brought food and snacks.

Another great event hosted by Dave McGuiness and friends was Valentines. Again, the food and fellowship was the best. Attending one of these events it is easy to see why we are the friendliest lodge. This lodge would not function without the hard work of the volunteers and the support of those that attend the events.

Paulette has been hosting karaoke on Friday nights. Stop by the lodge and take your turn at singing your favorite songs or just set back and enjoy the talent we have at the lodge.

We have more events scheduled in March. Please come out and support them.

March 13th we are having my going out party as ER along with a St. Patrick’s Day party. Please come and party with us.

March 20th Bonnie and Earl are hosting a dinner and steak shoot. This is sure to be a great time. Come out and win some steaks.

March 27th is going to be a full day. To start with Ken Poole is hosting a Poker Run to support Relay for Life. Breakfast will start at 9:00am, first out at 10:00am and last back at 2:00pm followed with food, beverages, fellowship and a band. Later that evening we are going to have the installation of our new officers. Please come out and show your support for our new officers.

Now that we have come to the end of our Elk year, I would like to thank everyone for supporting this years officers and the changes that have taken place this year. We have overcome some great milestones and accomplished a lot in this past year. Please continue to support the greatest organization in America and I hope that you will remember this year’s motto “BIG TEAM little me”. We could not continue our great work without the support of everyone, no matter if it is paying your dues or hosting an event every bit counts. As I have said all year, “It does not matter how much you do, just that you do something”.

This being my last ER message, I want to sincerely thank all of you for allowing Jackie and me the honor to represent our lodge. We have grown to appreciate what Elkdom truly is and have tried to express that in our everyday lives. Elks’ do care and share. Continue the great work, God Bless and we will see you at the lodge.

 “TEAM me”
